The Next Level Grand Opening

The story behind why we opened Next Level CoWork in Agawam — and what we set out to build for Western Mass.

·Next Level CoWork

Next Level CoWork opened its doors in May 2025 at 11 Herbert P. Almgren Dr in Agawam, Massachusetts. We built it for the freelancers, remote workers, entrepreneurs, and small teams across Western Mass and the Northern Connecticut line who needed a professional, welcoming place to work that wasn't the kitchen table or the corner of a noisy café. This is the story of how we got here.

Why Agawam?

Agawam sits in a sweet spot. It's minutes from Springfield, close enough to the Connecticut line that people in Enfield, Suffield, and Windsor Locks can be at their desk in well under half an hour, and it has easy parking and quick highway access. For a long time, anyone in this part of Western Massachusetts who wanted a real coworking space had to drive toward Hartford or Northampton to find one.

We didn't think the people doing great work in and around Agawam should have to leave the area to find a professional home base. So we put one here.

What we set out to build

A coworking space is easy to describe and hard to get right. Plenty of places rent desks. We wanted something with more warmth than that — a space that feels like it's rooting for you.

That idea shaped every decision:

  • Comfortable, not corporate. Good light, good coffee, and rooms you actually want to spend a day in.
  • Flexible from day one. Whether you need a single afternoon or a private office for your growing team, there's a plan that fits.
  • Genuinely local. Built in Agawam, for the Western Mass and Northern CT community — not a franchise dropped in from somewhere else.

The name says the rest. "Level up" isn't a slogan we stuck on the wall; it's what we want the space to do for the people in it. A freelancer signs their first big client. A remote worker finally separates work from home. A two-person startup becomes a six-person team. We wanted a room that grows with all of that.

The spaces we opened with

From the start, we wanted variety, because no two members work the same way. Our rooms each have a name and a job:

  • The Launch Pad — our largest meeting room, seating up to 8, for client meetings, team sessions, and presentations.
  • The Think Tank — a focused 4-person room for smaller meetings and heads-down collaboration.
  • The Echo Chamber — a 4-seat room set up for training and workshops.
  • The Lounge — our community hub and event space, where members connect and where we host gatherings.

Around those, we offer a full range of memberships and plans: day passes for drop-in days, dedicated workstations for people who want the same desk every morning, and private offices for teams that need a door that closes. Members get 24/7 access; our office hours run Monday through Friday, 9 to 5.

A community, not just a building

The thing we're proudest of isn't the furniture. It's the mix of people who showed up. On any given day you'll find a graphic designer next to a financial advisor next to someone building a software product, all sharing the same coffee and the occasional bit of advice. That cross-pollination is the whole point.

Opening week made it clear we'd guessed right about what the area wanted. People didn't just want a desk — they wanted somewhere to belong while they did their best work.

What "leveling up" looks like

We measure the space by what happens inside it. In our first months that already meant a freelancer landing the biggest client of their career, a remote employee finally reclaiming their evenings, and a solo founder interviewing their first hire in the Think Tank. None of those moments require a fancy building — they require a steady, professional place to do the work and a few people nearby who believe it's possible.

That's the version of "leveling up" we set out to enable: not hustle for its own sake, but real, visible progress for the people of Agawam and Western Mass who decided to bet on themselves. It's why we obsess over the small things — the quality of the coffee, the comfort of the chairs, the warmth of the welcome — because those details are what make a person want to show up and do their best work day after day. A space can't write your proposal or close your deal. But the right one removes the friction, surrounds you with momentum, and quietly raises the bar for what you expect of yourself.
